He is Back!

Cliff Lee Signs With Phillies

Cliff Lee has decided to go back to the Philadelphia Phillies, choosing the team over the millions of dollars more offered by the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. Lee signed a five-year, $120 million contract with the Phillies—the third largest ever for a pitcher. He previously played for the Phillies starting in July 2009, when he helped them reach the World Series. After the playoffs, he was sent to Seattle and wound up in Texas. The Yankees’ final offer was six years, $132 million.

Cliff Lee is back with the Philadelphia Phillies after his deal with the Texas Rangers was up. He had a lot to think about. He had a lot of teams that wanted him like the Yankees and the rangers. He could have signed for millions of more dollars if he would have signed with the Yankees but he choose the Phillies instead.

Now the Phillies have baseballs best pitching rotation with Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, and Cole Hamels. Now they added Cliff Lee back to the line up. Two years ago when the phillies had lee they went to the world series but lost too the Yankees. The phillies didn’t sign cliff lee after that season. But now that he has become a free agent again they decided to try and pick him back up. Phillies didn’t want to spend to much money for him so they tried what they could and they got him back.

I think he made the right decision. It shows he is not all about the money he rather win and be in a city that loves him. Im happy for lee and glad he is back.
